General safety
instructions
WARNING!
For multiple hazards: Please ensure that you
have read and understood the safety instruc-
tions before adjusting, operating, repairing,
maintaining or replacement of accessories
on the grinding machine for die grinders
as well as before working in the vicinity of
the machine. Failure to do this can result in
serious bodily injury.
The abrasive grinding machine should only be
set up, adjusted or used by suitably qualified
and trained operators.
This machine must not be modified. Modifi-
cations can reduce the effectiveness of the
safety measures and increase the risks for the
operator.
Do not lose the safety instructions – hand
them over to the operator.
Never use a damaged abrasive grinding
machine..
The machines must be inspected regularly to
ensure that the compressed air abrasive cutter
is marked with the clearly legible ratings and
markings required in this part of ISO 11148.
The employer/user must contact the manufactur-
er to obtain replacement signs if necessary.
Hazards caused by flying parts
If a workpiece or accessory or even part of the
machine tool itself breaks, parts can be flung off
at high speeds.
Always wear impact-resistant eye protection
when operating the abrasive grinding machine.
The degree of necessary protection must be
evaluated separately for each individual task.
Ensure that the workpiece has been securely
fixed in place.
Ensure that the abrasive medium is securely
clamped to the grinding machine.
PDTS 6.3 B3

GB
CY
Check that the maximum operating speed of
the abrasive medium, converted into revolutions
per minute, is equal to or higher than the rated
spindle speed.
Ensure that the blade guard is mounted, in
good condition, properly fastened and inspected
regularly.
Provided that the workpiece encloses the
abrasive medium, a blade guard may not be
required for internal grinding.
Check that the clamping flanges are used in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
and that they are in good condition, e.g. with-
out cracks and fissures, and are flat.
Check whether the spindle and spindle thread
are damaged or worn.
Ensure that any sparks and debris produced
during use do not cause any hazards.
The grinding machine must be disconnected
from the power supply before changing the
abrasive medium and before maintenance.
Hazards caused by entanglement
There may be a risk of suffocation, scalping
and/or cuts if loose clothing, jewellery, neck-
laces, hair or gloves are not kept away from
the machine and its accessories.
Hazards during operation
Avoid contact with rotating spindle and at-
tached grinding wheel to avoid cuts on the
hands or other body parts.
When using the machine, the operator's hands
may be exposed to hazards such as cuts, abra-
sions and heat. Wear suitable gloves to protect
your hands.
The operator and maintenance personnel must
be physically capable of handling the size,
mass and power of the machine.
Hold the machine correctly:
Be prepared to counteract the usual or sudden
movements. Have both hands ready.
Ensure that your body is balanced and that you
have a secure standing position.
Release the start/stop control in case of a
disruption to the electricity supply.
Use only recommended lubricants.
Safety goggles must be worn, protective gloves
and protective clothing are recommended.
Wear a safety helmet if working above head
height.
After switching off, do not put the machine
down until the disc comes to a standstill.
During abrasive cutting, the workpiece must be
supported in such a way that the cutting slot has
a constant or increasing width during the entire
machining process.
If the abrasive medium gets stuck in a cut,
switch off the abrasive grinding machine and
loosen the grinding wheel. Before continuing
operation, check that the abrasive medium is
still firmly fitted and not damaged.
Grinding wheels and cutting wheels must not
be used for side grinding (exception: grinding
wheels for side grinding). Abrasive grinding
machines may not be used at more than the
maximum speed of the abrasive medium.
Make sure that there are no other people
standing in the immediate vicinity.
Personal protective equipment such as suitable
gloves, aprons and protective helmets must be
used.
Sparks generated by grinding can ignite clothing
and cause severe burns. Ensure that the sparks
do not fall onto clothing. Wear fire-retardant
clothing and make sure there is a bucket of
water nearby.
Hazards caused by repetitive
movements
When using a abrasive grinding machine to
perform work-related activities, the operator may
experience unpleasant sensations in the hands,
arms, neck, shoulders or other parts of the body.
When using a abrasive grinding machine, the
operator should adopt a comfortable posture
whilst ensuring a secure hold and avoiding
awkward postures or positions in which it is dif-
ficult to maintain balance. The operator should
change positions during the course of long-
lasting tasks. This can be helpful in the preven-
tion of discomfort and fatigue.
PDTS 6.3 B3
GB
CY
 5
If the operator notices symptoms such as persis-
tent or recurring illness, discomfort, throbbing,
pain, tingling, burning or stiffness, these indica-
tions should not be ignored. The operator must
inform his/her employer and seek the advice
of a suitably qualified medical practitioner.
Hazards caused by accessories
Disconnect the abrasive grinding machine from
the power supply before mounting or replacing
the machine tool or accessory.
Use only accessories and consumables of the
sizes and types recommended by the manu-
facturer of the abrasive grinding machine. Do
not use other types or sizes of accessories and
consumables.
Make sure that the dimensions of the abrasive
medium are compatible with those of the abra-
sive grinding machine and that the abrasive
medium fits on the spindle.
Make sure that the thread type and size of the
abrasive medium exactly matches the thread
type and size of the spindle thread.
Inspect the abrasive medium before use.
Do not use abrasive media that may have been
dropped or have chips, cracks or other defects.
Ensure that the abrasive medium is properly
fixed and tightened before use; the abrasive
grinding machine must be operated for at least
1 minute in a secure position at idling speed;
the machine must be switched off immediate-
ly if significant vibration or other damage is
detected; the cause of these faults must be
determined.
By checking the dimensions and other important
data of the spindle, you can avoid the spindle
end touching the bottom of the opening of
grinding pots, cones or die grinders with thread-
ed inserts intended for mounting on machine
spindles.
For abrasive media which are supplied with re-
ducers or bushings or which are to be used with
reducers or bushings, the user must ensure that
the reducer or bushings do not touch the face of
the clamping flange and that the clamping force
provides sufficient rotational drive to prevent the
abrasive from slipping.
In cases where clamping flanges are provided
for different types and sizes of abrasives, always
attach the correct clamping flange for the abra-
sive medium being used.
Avoid direct contact before and after using the
machine tool, as it may be warm or sharp.
The abrasive medium must be stored and hand-
led in accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions.
Hazards in the workplace
Slipping, tripping and falling are the main
causes of injuries in the workplace. Look out
for surfaces which could have become slippery
due to use of the machine, and also any tripping
hazards caused by air or hydraulic hoses.
Proceed with caution in unknown surroundings.
Hidden hazards caused by power or other supply
lines may be present.
The abrasive grinding machine is not intended
for use in explosive atmospheres and is not
insulated against contact with electrical power
sources.
Make sure that there are no electrical lines, gas
pipelines, etc., which could lead to a hazard
in the event of damage due to the use of the
machine.
Hazards caused by dust and vapours
The dusts and vapours generated by the use
of sanding machines for abrasive sheets and
polishers can cause health problems (such as
cancer, birth defects, asthma and/or dermati-
tis); it is essential to carry out a risk assessment
of these hazards and to implement appropriate
control mechanisms.
The risk assessment should include all dust
caused by use of the machine and any existing
dust which may be kicked up at the same time.
The abrasive grinding machine is to be operated
and maintained in accordance with the recom-
mendations contained in this manual to keep
the release of dust and vapours to a minimum.
The exhaust air should be routed so that the
raising of dust in already dusty environments is
kept to a minimum.
PDTS 6.3 B3
6
GB
CY
If dusts or vapours are created, the main priority
must be to control these at the site of their re-
lease.
All inserts or accessories of the machine in-
tended for collecting, extracting or suppressing
airborne dust or vapours or should be used and
serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Consumables/machine tools should be selected,
maintained and replaced in accordance with
the recommendations in this guide in order to
avoid unnecessary intensification of dust or
vapour production.
Use breathing equipment as per the instructions
provided by your employer or as required by
health and safety regulations.
The processing of certain materials can cause
the production of dust and vapours which can
lead to the formation of a potentially explosive
atmosphere.
Hazards caused by noise
Excessive noise levels in conjunction with insuffi-
cient hearing protection may lead to permanent
hearing damage, hearing loss and other prob-
lems, such as tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, whistling
or humming in your ears).
Suitable regulatory mechanisms include meas-
ures such as the use of insulation materials to
avoid pinging occurring on the workpieces.
Use hearing protection equipment.
The abrasive grinding machine is to be oper-
ated and maintained in accordance with the
recommendations contained in this manual to
reduce any unnecessary increase of the noise
levels.
If the abrasive grinding machine is equipped
with a silencer, always ensure that it is in its
place and in working order when the machine
is in operation.
Consumables/machine tools should be selected,
maintained and replaced in accordance with
the recommendations in this guide in order to
avoid unnecessary increase of the noise levels.
Hazards caused by vibrations
Vibrations can damage the nerves and cause
malfunctions to the blood circulation in the
hands and arms.
When working in a cold environment, wear
warm clothing and keep your hands warm
and dry.
If you experience numbness, tingling or pain
in your fingers or hands, or if the skin on your
fingers or hands turns white, stop using the
abrasive grinding machine, inform your
employer and consult a doctor.
The abrasive grinding machine is to be oper-
ated and maintained in accordance with the
recommendations contained in this manual to
reduce any unnecessary increase of the vibra-
tions.
Do not allow the machine tool to rattle against
the workpiece, as this is highly likely to lead to
a considerable increase in vibrations.
Consumables/machine tools should be selected,
maintained and replaced in accordance with
the recommendations in this guide in order to
avoid unnecessary increase of the vibrations.
Always use a stand, a clamp or a compensation
device to support the weight of the machine.
Hold the machine securely but not too firmly
while maintaining the necessary hand-reaction
force, as the vibration risk generally increases
the harder the machine is held.
Use intermediate layers if they are intended for
bonded abrasives.
Additional safety instructions for
pneumatic machines
Compressed air can cause serious injuries.
Ensure that the air supply is switched off,
the hose is not under pressure, that the air
supply has been shut off and that the ma-
chine is disconnected from the air supply
when not in use, and also before exchang-
ing accessories or carrying out repairs.
Never aim the airflow towards yourself or
any other person.
PDTS 6.3 B3
GB
CY
 7
Thrashing hoses can cause serious injury. There-
fore, always check that the hoses and their fix-
ings are not damaged or have not come loose.
If universal rotary joints (claw couplings) are
used, locking pins must be used to provide pro-
tection; Whipcheck® air hose restraints must be
used to provide protection in case of a failure of
the connection of the hose to the machine.
Ensure that the maximum permissible pressure
on the machine is not exceeded.
Never carry compressed-air-powered machines
by the hose.
Special safety instructions for
grinding and abrasive cutting
Only use the grinding tools approved for your
compressed air tool and the blade guard provid-
ed for these grinding tools. Grinding tools which
are not intended for the compressed air tool
cannot be adequately shielded and are unsafe.
Offset grinding discs must be mounted in such
a way that their grinding surface does not
project above the plane of the blade guard
edge. An improperly fitted grinding disc which
protrudes over the level of the blade guard
edge cannot be properly guarded.
The blade guard must be securely attached
to the compressed air tool and adjusted for
maximum safety so that the minimum possible
amount of the abrasive medium is open to the
operator. The blade guard is designed to pro-
tect the operator from fragments and accidental
contact with the grinding tool.
Grinding tools should only be used for the
recommended applications. For example:
Never grind with the side surface of a cutting
disc. Cutting discs are designed to remove
material with the edge of the disc. Any lateral
application of force on these grinding tools can
lead to a breakage.
Always use undamaged clamping flanges of
the correct size and shape for the grinding
wheel you have selected. Suitable flanges
support the grinding disc and reduce the risk of
a disc breakage. Flanges for cutting discs can
be different to flanges for other grinding discs.
Do not use worn grinding wheels from larger
pneumatic tools. Grinding wheels for larger
compressed air tools are not designed for the
higher speeds of smaller compressed air tools
and may break.
Additional special safety instructions
for abrasive cutting
Avoid blocking the cutting disc or excessive
contact pressure. Do not make any exces-
sively deep cuts. Overloading the cutting disc
increases the stress and likelihood of tilting or
blocking and thus the possibility of a setback or
a breakage of the grinding tool.
Avoid the area in front of and behind the
rotating cutting disc. When you move the cut-
ting disc away from yourself in the workpiece it
is possible that, in the event of a kickback, the
compressed air tool might be thrown out direct-
ly towards you along with the rotating disc.
If the cutting disc jams or you stop working,
switch the tool off and hold it steady until the
disc has completely stopped turning. Never
attempt to pull a rotating cutting disc out of a
cut. This could lead to a kickback. Identify and
remove the cause of the jam.
Do not switch the power tool back on as long
as it is in the workpiece. Allow the cutting disc
to reach its full speed before you carefully
continue the cut. Otherwise, the disc can jam,
jump out of the workpiece or cause a kickback.
Support panels or large workpieces to re-
duce the risk of the cutting disc jamming and
causing a kickback. Large workpieces can
bend under their own weight. The workpiece
must be supported on both sides of the disc:
both in the vicinity of the cutting disc and also
at the edge.
Cutting discs must be stored and handled care-
fully and in accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions.
PDTS 6.3 B3

GB
CY
Kickback and corresponding safety
instructions
Kickback is a sudden reaction caused when a
rotating accessory tool catches or jams,
Catching or jamming causes the rotating acces-
sory tool to stop abruptly. If this happens, an
uncontrolled compressed air tool turns rapidly
against the direction of rotation of the accesso-
ry tool caught in the blockage.
If, for example, a grinding disc catches or
blocks in a workpiece, the edge of the grinding
disc which is projecting into the workpiece can
get caught and break off the grinding disc or
cause a kickback. The grinding disc can then
fly in the direction of the operator or away from
him, depending on the direction of rotation of
the disc at the blockage.
This can also break grinding discs.
A kickback is caused by incorrect use or misuse
of the pneumatic tool. This can be avoided by
taking proper precautions as given below.
a) Hold the compressed air tool firmly in both
hands and position your body and arms so they
can absorb the force of a kickback. Always use
the additional handle, if available, so that you
have the maximum control over the kickback
force or reaction forces at full speed. By taking
adequate precautions, the operator can stay in
control of the kickback and reaction forces.
b) Never hold your hand close to a rotating
accessory tool. The accessory tool could jump
out of your hand if there is a kickback.
c) Avoid having any part of your body in the
region in which the compressed air tool is likely
to move in event of a kickback. The kickback
will force the compressed air tool in the oppo-
site direction to the direction of rotation of the
grinding disc at the blockage.
d) Take special care when working around
corners, sharp edges, etc. Avoid allowing the
accessory tool to bounce back from the work-
piece or jam. The rotating accessory tool is
more likely to jam in corners or sharp edges or
if it bounces. This can cause a loss of control or
kickback.
e) Do not use chains or toothed saw blades.
Such accessories often cause a kickback or loss
of control over the power tool.
Before use
Changing the cutting disc
ATTENTION!
Disconnect the compressed air tool from the
compressed air supply before replacing the
insert tool or accessories or performing any
adjustment or maintenance. The spindle
must be at a standstill.

Setting up
Lubrication
WARNING!
Avoid eye and skin contact with lubricants.
NOTE
Regular lubrication is particularly important
to avoid friction and corrosion damage.
We recommend using a suitable special oil
for compressed air tools (e.g. Liqui Moly
compressor oil).
Lubrication with mist oiler
A mist oiler (not supplied) continuously
and optimally lubricates the grinder as
a preparation stage after the pressure
reducer. A mist oiler gives off fine drops of
oil into the air flow and thus guarantees a
regular lubrication.
Manual lubrication
If you do not have a mist oiler, lubricate the
tool before every use or during longer work
sessions. Add 3–5 drops of pneumatic oil
into the connector nipple
.
Connecting to a compressed
airsource
NOTE
Before connecting the compressed air source
the correct working pressure (6.3 bar)
must be fully reached, and
you must ensure that the trigger is in the
upper position.
Use only connection hoses with an internal
diameter of at least 9 mm.
Use only filtered, lubricated and regulated
compressed air.
Attach the tool to a compressor by connecting
the connector nipple
to the supply hose on
the compressed air source.
ATTENTION!
Ensure that the compressed air hose is firmly
attached. A loose hose can thrash about
uncontrollably, causing serious danger.
Likewise, ensure firm seating of the two screw
connections between the coupling piece and
the tool.
To ensure that you can regulate the air pressure,
the compressed air source must be equipped
with a pressure reducer.
Switching on and off
Switching on
Press the switch-on guard
in the direction of
the blade guard . Then press the trigger to
turn on the appliance.
Switching off
Release the trigger
.
When you have finished working, disconnect
the appliance from the compressed air source.
Maintenance and cleaning
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Disconnect the appliance from
the compressed air supply.
ATTENTION!
Before maintenance, clean off any hazardous
substances which may have accumulated on
the tool (due to working processes). Avoid
all skin contact with these substances. If the
skin comes into contact with hazardous dusts,
this can lead to severe dermatitis. If dust is
produced or swirled up during maintenance,
it can be inhaled.
NOTE
To ensure correct functioning and long-term
durability of the appliance, pay attention to
the following points:
Sufficient and continuous oil lubrication is highly
important for optimum functioning.
Check the speed and vibration levels after each
use.
PDTS 6.3 B3
10
GB
CY

ommended by the manufacturer, otherwise you
could put users at risk. In doubt, contact the
Service Centre.
Keep the compressed air appliances in a clean
condition. Clean the appliance with a soft, dry
cloth only.
Never use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
The compressed air tool should be stored in dry
rooms. Make sure that no moisture gets inside
the compressed air tool.

ovaj uređaj u skladu sa srpskim za-
htevima za bezbednost proizvoda.
WARNING!
Opšta bezbednosna
pravila
UPOZORENJE!
Za višestruke opasnosti: Bezbednosne na-
pomene morate da pročitate i razumete pre
instalacije, upotrebe, popravke, održavanja i
kvalifikovani i obučeni rukovaoci.
Nisu dozvoljene izmene na mašini. Izmene
mogu da smanje efikasnost bezbednosnih mera
i da povećaju rizike za rukovaoca.
Bezbednosne napomene ne smeju da se
izgube- dajte ih rukovaocu.

Opasnosti u radu
posekotine, ogrebotine i toplota. Nosite odgo-
varajuće rukavice kao zaštitu za šake.
Rukovalac i osoblje za održavanje moraju fizički
da budu u stanju da rukuju veličinom, masom i
snagom mašine.
Držite mašinu pravilno:
Budite spremni da se suprotstavite uobičajenim
ili iznenadnim pokretima. Obe šake treba da
Vam budu spremne.
Vodite računa o tome da Vaše telo bude u
ravnoteži i da imate stabilan položaj.
Omogućite komandnom uređaju da se pokrene
i zaustavi u slučaju prekida u snabdevanju
energijom.
Koristite samo preporučena sredstva za podmazi-
vanje.
konstantnu ili rastuću širinu;
pričvršćeno i da nije oštećeno;
brušenje;
Nosite sporo-
u šakama i rukama, kao i u području vrata i
PDTS 6.3 B3
RS
 17
maranja.
Ukoliko rukovalac na sebi primeti simptome,
kao npr. trajna ili ponovna nelagodnost, tego-
be, lupanje, bol, trnjenje, obamrlost, pečenje ili
Koristite isključivo delove pribora i potrošni
pribora i potrošnog materijala.
brušenje tačno odgovaraju tipu i veličini navoja
vretena.
upotrebe, propisno i dovoljno snažno pričvršće-
no; brusilica za sredstva za brušenje mora, u
Proverom dimenzija i ostalih važnih podataka
predviđeni za montažu na vreteno mašine;
vazduh i hidrauličnim crevima.
