Installing and connecting the aerator pump
NOTE
When installing the unit, ensure that it
• is located outside the aquarium
• is not placed on or over the aquarium
• cannot fall into the water or move out of position.
Damage resulting from incorrect installation is not ba-
sis for a claim within the framework of the guarantee
or warranty.
How to proceed:
D
1. Connect the air hose leading out of the aquarium to
the air connection of the aerator pump and fit the
aerator pump above the subsequent level of the
aquarium water.
– This prevents water from leaking or damage to
the pump in case the integrated non-return valve
should fail.
2. Connect the connection cable of the aerator pump
to the separate socket of the plug-in transformer so
that it forms a drip loop.
– Always connect the aerator pump to the plug-in
transformer first, then connect the plug-in trans-
former to the power socket.

COMMISSIONING/START-UP
Filling with and preparing the water
It is necessary to prepare the aquarium water by add-
ing "Water Conditioner" and "Biological Booster".
How to proceed:
E, F
1. Fill the aquarium with 2 litres of tap water.
2. Insert the plug-in transformer into the socket to
switch on the aerator pump.
3. Fill the aquarium with more tap water up to about
5 cm below the cover.
4. Cut open the "Water Conditioner" bag and sprinkle
the contents into the water.
5. Once the pump has been running for at least 24 h,
sprinkle the contents of the "Biological Booster" bag
into the water.
Switching the aerator pump on/off
NOTE
Never operate the aerator pump by itself, i. e. without
the air hose and air stone connected.
How to proceed:
F
Switching on: Connect plug-in transformer to the
socket. The unit switches on immediately when the
power connection is established.
Switching off: Disconnect the plug-in transformer.
Switching the lighting unit on/off
• See the separately included operating manual.
REMEDY OF FAULTS
The water becomes soiled within a
short time.
The filter cartridge is exhausted.
Replace the filter cartridge.
Reduce the amount of food.
Reduce the number of fish.
Aerator pump doesn't start up.
• Check the connection of the aerator pump at
the transformer
• Check the mains voltage.
Replace the aerator pump.
Aerator pump is vibrating.
Place the aerator pump onto a softer sur-
face.
Fewer air bubbles in the air tube than
normal
The aerator pump is noisy and there
are still fewer air bubbles even after
replacement of the air stone.
The aerator pump is only functioning to a
limited extent.
Replace the aerator pump immediately.
