Braun Silk·épil 5 has been designed to

make the removal of unwanted hair as

efficient, gentle and easy as possible.

Its proven epilation system removes hair

at the root, leaving your skin smooth for

weeks. As the hair that re-grows is fine

and soft, there will be no more stubble.

General information on epilation

All methods of hair removal at the root

can lead to in-growing hair and irritation

(e.g. itching, discomfort and reddening

of the skin) depending on the condition

of the skin and hair. This is a normal

reaction and should quickly disappear,

but may be stronger when you are

removing hair at the root for the first few

times or if you have sensitive skin.

If, after 36 hours, the skin still shows

irritation, we recommend that you

contact your physician. In general, the

skin reaction and the sensation of pain

tend to diminish considerably with the

repeated use of Silk·épil.

In some cases inflammation of the skin

could occur when bacteria penetrate the

skin (e.g. when sliding the appliance over

the skin).

Thorough cleaning of the epilation head

before each use will minimise the risk of

infection. If you have any doubts about

using this appliance, please consult your

physician. In the following cases, this

appliance should only be used after prior

consultation with a physician:

– eczema, wounds, inflamed skin

reactions such as folliculitis (purulent

hair follicles) and varicose veins,

– around moles,

– reduced immunity of the skin, e.g.

diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy,

Raynaud’s disease, haemophilia,

candida or immune deficiency.

Some useful tips

If you have not used an epilator before,

or if you have not epilated for a longer

period of time, it may take a short time

for your skin to adapt to epilation. The

discomfort experienced in the beginning

will decrease considerably with repeated

use as the skin adapts to the process.

Epilation is easier and more comfortable

when the hair is at the optimum length of

2-5 mm. If hairs are longer, we recom-

mend that you first shave and epilate the

shorter, re-growing hairs a week later.

When epilating for the first time, it is

advisable to epilate in the evening, so

that any possible reddening can disap-

pear overnight. To relax the skin we

recommend applying a moisture cream

after epilation.

Fine hair which re-grows might not grow

up to the skin surface. The regular use of

massage sponges (e.g. after showering)

or exfoliation peelings helps to prevent

in-growing hair as the gentle scrubbing

action removes the upper skin layer and

fine hair can get through to the skin

surface.

Preparing for use

• Your skin must be dry and free from

grease or cream.

• Before use, always make sure that the

epilation head (2) is clean and provided

with a cap (1).

• To change caps, press their lateral ribs

and pull off.

• To change heads, press the release

button (5).

Cooling glove for optional skin

For the first few epilations or if you have

sensitive skin, you can use the cooling

glove (9), recommended by derma-

tologists to help reduce possible skin

irritation.

• Ensure that the gel pack has been in

the deep freezer (***) for at least

2 hours (for convenience you can store

the gel packs in the freezer).

• Insert the gel pack underneath the

cooling glove’s transparent foil. Use

only with glove.

• Put transparent (cool) side of the glove

on your leg.

• Start cooling for approximately

30 seconds, longer if needed.

• Epilate the cooled skin area immedi-

ately as described below.

• Repeat cooling and epilating until

completion.

• While epilating, please ensure your

skin is dry.

Important: Apply cooling glove to the

same area for no longer than 2 minutes.

Keep away from sunlight. Do not use

gel pack when damaged. Dispose of in

household waste. Do not use if you are

hypersensitive, allergic to the cold, or if

your skin suffers from sensory disturb-

ances, when suffering from cardiac

diseases or arterial circulatory disorders.

How to epilate

The epilation head (2) features Close-

Grip Technology to ensure extra effi-

ciency especially with short hairs: The

40 tweezers always keep close contact

to the skin to remove hairs as short as

grain of sand (0.5 mm). The pivoting

head perfectly adapts to the body

contours for maximum thoroughness.

The high-frequency massaging rollers

(1) stimulate your skin effectively for an

extra gentle epilation.

1 How to operate the appliance

Turn the on/off switch (4) to operate

the appliance:

Turn to position «I» = extra gentle

Turn to position «II» = extra efficient

As long as the appliance is switched

on, the light (3) illuminates the area

to be epilated. This gives you a better

control for improved epilation efficiency.

2 How to guide the appliance

• Always stretch your skin when

epilating.

• Always make sure that the epilation

area is in close contact with your skin.

• Guide the appliance in a slow,

continuous movement without

pressure against the hair growth, in

the direction of the switch. As hair

can grow in different directions, it

may also be helpful to guide the

appliance in different directions to

achieve optimal results. The pulsat-

ing movements of the massaging

rollers stimulate and relax the skin

for a gentler epilation.

3 Leg epilation

Epilate your legs from the lower leg in

an upward direction. When epilating

behind the knee, keep the leg stretched

out straight.

4 Underarm and bikini line epilation

For this specific application, the sensi-

tive area cap (7) has been developed

as an optional attachment to be placed

on the epilation head (2).

Please be aware that especially at the

beginning, these areas are particularly

sensitive to pain. Therefore, we recom-

mend you start with switch setting «I».

With repeated usage the pain sensa-

tion will diminish. Before epilating,

thoroughly clean the respective area

to remove residues (like deodorant).

Then carefully dab dry with a towel.

When epilating the underarm, keep

your arm raised up so that the skin is

stretched and guide the appliance in

different directions. As skin may be

more sensitive directly after epilation,

avoid using irritating substances such

as deodorants with alcohol.

5 Facial epilation

With the facial head (8) attached, your

Silk·épil is perfectly suited for conveni-

ently removing any unwanted hair from

the face or other sensitive areas.

Prior to epilation, we recommend

cleaning the skin with alcohol to pro-

mote good hygiene. When epilating the

face, stretch the skin with one hand

and slowly guide the epilator with your

other hand in the direction of the

switch.

6 Cleaning the epilation head

Before cleaning, unplug the appliance.

Regular cleaning ensures better per-

formance.

a Brush cleaning:

Remove the cap (1) and brush it out.

Thoroughly clean the tweezers from

the rear side of the epilator head with

the brush dipped into alcohol. While

doing so, turn the tweezer element

manually. This cleaning method

ensures best hygienic conditions for

the epilation head.

b Cleaning under running water:

Remove the cap. Hold the appliance

with the epilation head under running

water.

Then press the release button (5) to

remove the epilation head (2).

Thoroughly shake both, the epilation

head and the appliance to make sure

that remaining water can drip out.

Leave both parts to dry. Before reat-

taching, make sure that they are com-

pletely dry.

Please do not dispose of the

product in the household waste

at the end of its useful life.

Disposal can take place at a Braun

Service Centre or at appropriate

collection points provided in your

country.

Informations générales

Toutes les méthodes d’épilation à la

racine peuvent entraîner des poils

incarnés et des irritations cutanées

(par exemple, démangeaison, gêne ou

rougissement de la peau), en fonction

de l’état de la peau et des poils.

Il s’agit d’une réaction normale qui doit

disparaître rapidement. Cette réaction

peut être plus importante les premières

fois que vous vous épilez ou si vous avez

une peau sensible. Si votre peau montre

encore des signes d’irritation après

36 heures, nous vous recommandons de

consulter votre médecin. En général, la

réaction de la peau et la sensation de

douleur tendent à diminuer considéra-

blement avec l’utilisation régulière de

votre épilateur Silk épil.

Dans certains cas, une inflammation de

la peau peut survenir si des bactéries

pénètrent sous la peau (par exemple,

lorsque vous faites glisser l’appareil sur

la peau). Un nettoyage minutieux de la

tête d’épilation avant chaque utilisation

minimise les risques d’infection.

Si vous avez des doutes concernant

médecin est nécessaire avant toute

Conseils utiles

Si vous n’avez jamais utilisé d’épilateur

auparavant ou si votre dernière épilation

remonte à longtemps, votre peau peut

avoir besoin d’un certain temps pour

s’habituer à l’épilation. La sensation

d’inconfort ressentie au début va s’atté-

nuer considérablement avec l’utilisation

régulière de l’appareil, le temps que la

peau s’adapte au processus.

L’épilation est plus facile et plus

confortable lorsque le poil mesure entre

2 et 5 mm maximum. Au-delà, nous vous

recommandons d’abord de vous raser,

puis d’épiler les poils qui repousseront

quelques jours plus tard.

Si vous vous épilez pour la première fois,

nous vous conseillons de le faire le soir

de manière à ce que toute rougeur

éventuelle disparaisse pendant la nuit.

Nous vous conseillons d’appliquer une

crème hydratante pour aider la peau à

s’assouplir après l’épilation.

Des poils très fins peuvent parfois

repousser sous la peau. Pour éviter les

poils incarnés, nous vous conseillons

d’utiliser régulièrement une éponge de

massage (après la douche) ou un gant

de crin. En effet, leur action exfoliante

enlève la couche supérieure de l’épi-

derme permettant ainsi aux poils fins de

ne pas rester bloqués sous la peau.

Préparation avant utilisation

• Votre peau doit être sèche et sans

aucun résidu d’huile ou de crème.

• Avant utilisation, assurez-vous toujours

que la tête d’épilation (2) est propre et

équipée d’un accessoire (1).

• Pour changer les accessoires, appuyez

de chaque côté de l’accessoire et

retirez-le.

• Pour changer les têtes d’épilation,

appuyez sur le bouton d’éjection (5).

Rafraîchissement de la peau

Lors des premières épilations ou si vous

avez la peau sensible, vous pouvez

utiliser le gant refroidissant (9), testé par

les dermatologues pour préparer la peau

avant l’épilation.

• Assurez-vous que la poche de gel est

restée au moins 2 heures au congéla-

teur (***) (pour plus de praticité vous

pouvez stocker la poche au congéla-

teur en permanence).

• Placez la poche de gel dans le gant.

Utilisez la poche de gel exclusivement

avec le gant.

• Appliquez la partie transparente (froide)

du gant sur votre jambe.

• Laissez le froid agir environ 30 secon-

des, plus longtemps si nécessaire.

• Epilez la zone refroidie immédiate-

ment, comme expliqué ci-après.

• Renouvelez ce processus (refroidis-

sement et épilation) jusqu’à ce que

vous ayez terminé de vous épiler.

• Pendant l’épilation, assurez-vous que

votre peau est sèche.

Important: N’appliquez pas le gant sur la

même zone plus de 2 minutes.

Conservez à l’abri du soleil. N’utilisez pas

la poche de gel si elle est endommagée

et jetez-la avec les ordures ménagères.

N’utilisez pas le gant si vous êtes très

sensible ou allergique au froid, si votre

peau est sujette à des dysfonctionne-

ments sensoriels, si vous souffrez d’une

maladie cardiaque ou encore de problè-

mes de circulation artérielle.

Comment s’épiler ?

La tête d’épilation (2) est équipée de la

technologie Close-Grip extrêmement

efficace même sur les poils courts : les

40 pincettes restent en permanence au

contact de la peau pour retirer les poils

même aussi petits qu’un grain de sable

(0,5 mm). La tête pivotante s’adapte

parfaitement aux contours de votre corps

pour une précision maximale.

Les rouleaux massants haute fréquence

(1) stimulent efficacement la peau pour

une épilation extra douce.

1 Fonctionnement de l’appareil

Tournez l’interrupteur marche/arrêt (4)

pour mettre en marche l’appareil.

Position « I » = ultra doux

Position « II » = ultra efficace

En position marche, la lumière (3)

éclaire la zone à épiler. Cela vous offre

un meilleur contrôle pour une efficacité

d’épilation optimale.

2 Utilisation de l’appareil

• Étirez toujours votre peau lorsque

vous vous épilez.

• Assurez-vous toujours que la zone

d’épilation reste au contact de la

peau.

• Déplacez l’appareil avec un mouve-

ment lent et continu, sans exercer

de pression, dans le sens inverse de

la pousse du poil et interrupteur vers

le bas. Étant donné que les poils ne

poussent pas toujours dans la même

direction, il peut être utile de dépla-

cer l’appareil sur des trajectoires

différentes afin d’obtenir un résultat

optimal. Les mouvements de pulsa-

tion des rouleaux massants stimulent

et détendent la peau pour une épila-

tion plus douce.

3 Epilation des jambes

Epilez vos jambes de bas en haut.

Tendez bien la peau lorsque vous vous

épilez derrière le genou.

4 Épilation des aisselles et du maillot

Un accessoire zones sensibles (7), à

placer sur la tête d’épilation (2), a été

créé pour cette utilisation spécifique.

Ces zones sont particulièrement

sensibles à la douleur, surtout lors

des premières épilations. Pour cette

raison nous vous recommandons de

commencer avec la vitesse I. Après

plusieurs épilations, la sensation de

douleur va diminuer.

Avant l’épilation, nettoyez avec

attention ces zones et enlevez tous

les résidus (comme le déodorant par

exemple). Puis séchez doucement

avec une serviette. Lorsque vous vous

épilez les aisselles, gardez votre bras

en l’air et déplacez l’appareil dans des

directions différentes. Après l’épilation

la peau est plus sensible, évitez donc

d’utiliser des substances irritantes

comme du déodorant avec alcool.

5 Épilation du visage

Grâce à son Accessoire visage (8),

votre Silk·épil est parfaitement adapté

à l’épilation des poils indésirables du

visage et des autres zones sensibles.

Pour une meilleure hygiène, nous

recommandons de nettoyer la peau

avec de l’alcool avant l’épilation.

Lorsque vous vous épilez le visage,

étirez la peau avec une main et dépla-

cez lentement l’épilateur avec l’autre

main, interrupteur vers le bas.

6 Nettoyage de la tête d’épilation

Avant le nettoyage, débranchez l’appa-

reil. Un nettoyage régulier garantit une

performance optimale.

a Nettoyage à la brosse :

Retirez l’accessoire (1) et brossez-le.

Nettoyez soigneusement les pincettes

situées à l’arrière de la tête d’épilation

avec la brosse préalablement trempée

dans l’alcool. Pendant le nettoyage,

vous pouvez tourner les pincettes

manuellement. Cette méthode de net-

toyage garantit une hygiène optimale

pour la tête d’épilation.

b Nettoyage à l’eau courante :

Retirez l’accessoire. Passez l’appareil

avec la tête d’épilation enclenchée

sous l’eau.

Ensuite, appuyez sur le bouton d’éjec-

tion (5) pour retirer la tête d’épilation

(2).

Secouez soigneusement la tête

d’épilation et l’appareil pour que l’eau

puisse s’égoutter. Laissez-les sécher.

Assurez-vous que ces deux éléments

soient complètement secs avant de les

réassembler.

Ne jetez pas ce produit avec les

ordures ménagères lorsqu’il est en

fin de vie. Le remettre à un centre

service agréé Braun ou le déposer

Przygotowanie do użytkowania

• Skóra musi być sucha, nienatłuszczona

Obecně platí, že opakovaným používáním

epilátoru Silk·épil se reakce pokožky a

pocit bolesti výrazně zmírňují.

V některých případech se pokožka může

zanítit, pokud bakterie proniknou do

pokožky (např. při pohybu přístroje po

pokožce). Důkladné vyčištění epilační

hlavy před každým použitím riziko vzniku

infekce minimalizuje.

Máte-li ohledně používání tohoto přístroje

jakékoli pochybnosti, poraďte se se svým

lékařem. V níže uvedených až po konzultaci

s lékařem:

– ekzémy, poranění, zánětlivé reakce

pokožky, jako je např. folikulitida (zánět

vlasového váčku) a výskyt křečových žil,

– epilace v okolí mateřských znamének,

– snížená imunita pokožky, např. při

cukrovce, během těhotenství, při

Raynaudově syndromu, hemofilie

kvasinková infekce nebo snížená

imunita organismu.

Několik užitečných tipů

Pokud jste epilátor doposud nepoužívala

nebo jste epilaci delší dobu neprováděla,

může chvíli trvat, než si vaše pokožka na

epilaci zvykne. Počáteční nepříjemný pocit

opakovaným používáním výrazně ustoupí,

protože si pokožka na proces zvykne.

Epilace je snadnější a pohodlnější, pokud

mají chloupky optimální délku 2 - 5 mm.

Když jsou chloupky delší, doporučujeme

je nejdříve oholit a po týdnu kratší

dorůstající chloupky odstranit epilací.

Provádíte-li epilaci poprvé, je vhodné

provést epilaci večer, aby mohlo případné

zarudnutí pokožky přes noc ustoupit.

Pro zklidnění pokožky doporučujeme po

epilaci použít hydratační krém.

Jemné, dorůstající chloupky nemusejí

Příprava před použitím

• Vaše pokožka musí být suchá, zbavená

zbytků mastnoty a krémů.

• Dbejte na to, aby byla epilační hlava

(2) před použitím vždy čistá a opatřená

nástavcem (1).

• Pro výměnu nástavců, stiskněte jejich

příčné žebrování a sejměte.

• Pro výměnu hlav, stiskněte uvolňovací

tlačítko (5).

Ochlazovací rukavice pro možné

zchlazení pokožky

Při prvních epilacích nebo pokud máte

citlivou pokožku, můžete použít ochlazo-

vací rukavici (9), kterou doporučují der-

matologové a která pomáhá redukovat

případné podráždění pokožky.

• Ujistěte se, že gelový polštářek byl

v mrazáku (***) minimálně 2 hodiny

(abyste měla gelové polštářky vždy po

ruce, můžete je v mrazáku skladovat).

• Gelový polštářek vložte pod průsvitnou

fólii ochlazovací rukavice. Používejte

pouze s rukavicí.

• Průsvitnou (chladnou) stranu rukavice

si přiložte na nohu.

• Nechte pokožku chladit 30 sekund,

v případě potřeby déle.

• S epilací ochlazené oblasti začněte

okamžitě, jak je popsáno níže.

• Ochlazování a epilaci opakujte, dokud

se neodstraní všechny nežádoucí

chloupky.
