generally OK, but make sure the pulp is well mixed, so the skin doesn’t clump together
• All pips, seeds, and stones must be removed – some taste bad, some are poisonous, most
will block or even break the nozzle. Don’t use pomegranates – the seeds will damage the
nozzle. Don’t use nuts – they will damage the nozzle. If you want nuts, mix them them to
the pulp afterwards, or use as a topping.
FREEZING THE FRUIT
• Chop the fruit into chunks.
• Dry the chunks with kitchen paper.
• Freeze the chunks on a tray (overnight is ideal).
• When frozen, the fruit can be bagged, marked, and kept in the freezer for future use, or
mashed right away.
MIXING THE FRUIT
There are two ways to mix the fruit:
1. Split the bananas, cut the other fruits into 40mm chunks, so they’ll fit the tube, freeze them,
feed them separately down the tube, and mix the pulp in a bowl.
2. Cut everything into small (15-20mm) chunks, freeze them, then feed the tube with handfuls
of mixed chunks, so the pulp comes out the nozzle ready-mixed.
• Try both – even with the same fruits, they’ll taste different.
• For a slightly softer pulp, let the fruit chunks thaw for 5-10 minutes before pulping.
SORBET/GRANITA
If you choose a particularly juicy fruit or berry, and use the appliance without the banana, you’ll
end up with something that looks, tastes, and feels about half way between sorbet and granita.
USING
• Don’t run the motor for more than 1 minute, or it may overheat. After 1 minute, switch off
for at least 2 minutes, to let the motor cool.
1. Put a bowl under the nozzle.
2. Put the plug into the power socket.
3. Move the switch to I.
4. Remove the pusher, and drop the ingredients down the tube.
5. Replace the pusher, and use it to push the ingredients gently down the tube.
6. When you finish, move the switch to O, and unplug the appliance.
DISASSEMBLY
1. Switch the appliance off (O) and unplug it.
2. Turn the body 45° clockwise, to disengage the bayonet fittings, and pull it off the motor
unit.
3. Unscrew the nozzle from the end of the body. It’s a left hand thread, so it unscrews
clockwise. If it’s tight, you may need to use the spanner.
4. Pull the shaft out of the body.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Switch the appliance off (O) and unplug it.
2. Wipe the outside of the motor unit with a clean damp cloth.
3. Wash the removable parts in warm soapy water, rinse well, drain, and air dry.
` You may wash these parts in a dishwasher.
If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will affect the surface
finishes. The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not affect the operation of the
appliance.
