Intended Use: The Roth Net retriever product line is intended to be used to retrieve excised polyps,

tissue samples, foreign bodies and calculi during flexible and rigid endoscopy

procedures.

Intended Users: Trained medical professionals intending to perform procedures that retrieve

excised polyps, tissue samples, foreign bodies and calculi during flexible and rigid

endoscopy procedures.

Intended Patient Population: Those patients requiring retrieval of excised polyps, tissue samples,

foreign bodies and calculi during flexible and rigid endoscopy

procedures.

Warnings and Precautions:

• The endoscopic retrieval of foreign objects, food bolus, or polyps should only be performed by

persons having adequate training and familiarity with endoscopic techniques.

• Consult the medical literature relative to techniques, complications, and hazards prior to the

performance of any endoscopic procedure.

• If reference information for endoscopic techniques utilizing the Roth Net retriever product line

is desired/needed, contact STERIS or refer to www.steris.com. Case reports and videos

describing and demonstrating techniques are available.

• Care should be exercised when grasping the targeted object, material, or polyp to be

retrieved to avoid inadvertently grasping tissue or organs not intended for retrieval.

• Keep gentle traction on the device during retrieval so that the retrieved object does not

become loosened, dislodged, or aspirated into the trachea.

• The technique for using the Roth Net retrievers, as described in any document or publication,

is at the discretion of the medical personnel attempting the retrieval.

• These devices are not recommended for the retrieval of sharp foreign objects.

• These devices are not recommended for use in side viewing endoscopes.

• The following conditions may cause the device to function improperly:

§ Advancing the handle to the open position with too much speed or force.

§ Attempting to pass or open the device in an extremely articulated endoscope.

§ Actuating the device in an extremely coiled position.

§ Actuating the device when the handle is at an acute angle in relation to the sheath.

• Do not attempt to reuse, reprocess, refurbish, remanufacture or resterilize this device.

STERIS Endoscopy did not design this device, nor is it intended to be reused, reprocessed,

refurbished, remanufactured, or resterilized. Performing such activities on this disposable

medical device presents a safety risk to patients (i.e., compromised device integrity, cross-

contamination, infection).

• This device has not been designed nor is it intended to be used with electrosurgical devices

or their accessories.

Contraindications:

• Contraindications include but are not limited to those specific to any endoscopic procedure.

Prior to use:

1. Always use appropriate PPE when performing endoscopic procedures.

2. Do not use if the device is damaged or if the packaging has been compromised. Save the

device and packaging and contact your local STERIS Endoscopy Product Specialist.

3. Do not use this device past the shelf life indicated on the product labeling.

4. Ensure the accessory channel diameter of the endoscope is compatible with the outer

diameter of the device catheter prior to insertion (see Product Description chart above).

5. Read the entire Instructions for Use and familiarize yourself with the device.

6. Remove the device from the package and uncoil the entire device and drape in a “U” shaped

configuration, holding the Proximal End of the catheter in one hand and the Distal End in the

opposite hand.

a. Note: For Roth Net foreign body – mini (00711057) remove and discard the RED

Handle Stay.

7. Close (retract) and open (deploy) the handle several times and observe that the device

functions properly.

8. Close (retract) the handle until the Roth Net is completely withdrawn into its catheter.

9. Read the “Warnings and Precautions” and “Contraindications”.

Directions for Use:

1. Once the object has been endoscopically identified, insert device into the biopsy valve of

accessory channel, then advance the device through the accessory channel of the endoscope

using short strokes (1" – 1.5" in length) until the distal end of the catheter is endoscopically

visualized.

• Roth Net foreign body – enteroscope (00711152) may have greater insertion forces

during enteroscopic use due to scope configuration and scope/device length.

2. Advance the distal end of the catheter slightly past the object to be retrieved. Avoid passing

the device past any object if the entire lumen is blocked. Open the device by advancing the

handle forward until it stops. Confirm the net is fully open via endoscopic observation.

3. The following conditions may cause the device to function improperly:

Ø advancing the handle to the open position with too much speed or force

Ø attempting to pass or open the device in an extremely articulated endoscope

Ø attempting to actuate the device in an extremely coiled position

Ø actuating the device when the handle is at an acute angle in relation to the catheter

4. Endoscopically position the Roth Net over the object. For best results, the object should be

centered and proximal within the net prior to closure.

• Roth Net retriever – 360 (00711197, 00711200) - Improve positioning of the net by

rotating the handle in the desired direction.

• Note: Rotation is best achieved with the net open and centered in the lumen, not lying

against the mucosal wall.

5. Keep the device closed by applying continuous/steady traction to the handle.

• Note: Excessive closing force may damage the device’s wire or cause the net to rupture

or tear.

• Note: Exerting excessive “bending” pressure on the open (deployed) device may

disfigure the wire shape.

6. The Roth Net Platinum series (00715050, 00715051, 00715150) and Roth Net Select

(00711170) are designed using a flat wire.

• Note: Closing or retracting the handle too tightly may cause damage to the device’s flat

wire.

• Note: Keep gentle traction on the device during retrieval so that the retrieved object

does not become loosened, dislodged or aspirated into the trachea.

7. Grasp and slowly pull the proximal end of the device to bring the collected object close to the

tip of the endoscope making sure not to obscure the endoscopic view.

8. Endoscopic observation is necessary during removal as to not lose sight of the object, bolus,

polyp, or surrounding tissue during removal.

9. When the object is secure in the net, slowly withdraw the object together with the endoscope

from the patient.

• Do not retract the device and the object into the endoscope, this could cause damage to

the endoscope and the device.

10. Once the endoscope and the device have been withdrawn, the retrieved object, bolus, or

polyp can be removed from the net by advancing the handle forward to open the device.

• Note: Rinse net in sterile water to release retrieved object. Do not use fingers to remove

object. This could damage the net.

11. Specimens should be prepared for histologic evaluation per institutional guidelines.

12. Confirm that the device continues to open and close smoothly prior to reinsertion into the

patient (if removing additional objects is required).

• Note: Rinsing the net in sterile water may be required if debris remains in net.

13. Close (retract) the handle until the net is completely repacked into its sheath.

14. Repeat steps 1-13 as needed.

15. Once the object or objects have been retrieved and removed from net, close (retract) the net

into the catheter and remove the device from the endoscope.

This device contains the following substance defined as CMR 1B in a concentration above

0.1% weight by weight:

Current scientific evidence supports that medical devices manufactured from cobalt alloys

or stainless-steel alloys containing cobalt do not cause an increased risk of cancer or

adverse reproductive effects.

Product Disposal:

After use, this product may be a potential biohazard which presents a risk of cross-

contamination. Handle and dispose of in accordance with accepted medical practice and

applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

• Faire preuve de vigilance lors de la saisie du polype, du matériau ou de l’objet à extraire afin

de ne pas saisir involontairement des tissus ou des organes qui ne doivent pas être extraits.

• Maintenir un léger mouvement de traction sur le dispositif pendant l’extraction afin que les

objets extraits ne soient pas relâchés, déplacés ou aspirés dans la trachée.

• La technique d’utilisation des extracteurs Roth Net, décrite dans tout(e) document ou

publication, est laissée à l’appréciation du personnel de santé qui réalise l’extraction.

• Ces dispositifs ne sont pas recommandés pour l’extraction de corps étrangers coupants.

• Ces dispositifs ne sont pas recommandés pour une utilisation dans les endoscopes à vue

latérale.

• Les conditions suivantes peuvent entraver le bon fonctionnement du dispositif :

§ Avancée de la poignée en position ouverte en appliquant une vitesse ou une force

excessive.

§ Tentative de passage ou d’ouverture du dispositif dans un endoscope extrêmement

articulé.

§ Actionnement du dispositif dans une position extrêmement enroulée.

§ Actionnement du dispositif alors que la poignée forme un angle aigu par rapport à la

gaine.

• Ne pas tenter de réutiliser, retraiter, reconditionner, réusiner ou restériliser ce dispositif. Ce

dispositif de STERIS Endoscopy n’a pas été conçu pour et n’est pas destiné à être réutilisé,

retraité, reconditionné, réusiné ou restérilisé. Soumettre ce dispositif médical jetable à de telles

manipulations présente un risque pour la sécurité des patients (c.-à-d. compromis d’intégrité du

dispositif, contamination croisée, infection).

• Ce dispositif n’a pas été conçu pour et n’est pas destiné à être utilisé avec des appareils

électrochirurgicaux ou leurs accessoires.

Contre-indications :

• Les contre-indications sont notamment celles propres à toute intervention endoscopique.

Avant l’utilisation :

1. Utilisez toujours un EPI adapté pour réaliser des procédures endoscopiques.

2. N’utilisez pas le dispositif s’il est endommagé ou si son emballage n’est pas intact. Dans ce

cas, conservez le dispositif et son emballage et contactez votre spécialiste produit local

STERIS Endoscopy.

3. N’utilisez pas ce dispositif au-delà de la date limite figurant sur son étiquette.

4. Avant toute insertion, veillez à ce que le diamètre du canal accessoire de l’endoscope soit

compatible avec le diamètre extérieur du cathéter du dispositif (voir le tableau de la section

Description du produit ci-dessus).

5. Lisez bien l’ensemble du mode d’emploi et familiarisez-vous avec le dispositif.

6. Sortez le dispositif de son emballage, déroulez l’ensemble du dispositif et disposez-le en

forme de U, tenez pour cela l’extrémité proximale du cathéter d’une main et l’extrémité distale

de l’autre.

a. Remarque : pour le Roth Net corps étranger — mini (00711057), retirez et mettez

au rebut la butée de poignée ROUGE.

7. Fermez (rétractez) puis ouvrez (déployez) plusieurs fois la poignée pour vous assurer du

bon fonctionnement du dispositif.

8. Fermez (rétractez) la poignée jusqu’à ce que le Roth Net soit entièrement rentré dans son

cathéter.

9. Lisez les sections « Avertissements et précautions » et « Contre-indications ».

Mode d’emploi :

1. Une fois l’objet identifié grâce à l’endoscope, insérez le dispositif dans la valve du canal

accessoire puis introduisez-le petit à petit (2,5 à 4 cm à la fois) dans le canal accessoire de

l’endoscope jusqu’à visualiser l’extrémité distale du cathéter avec l’endoscope.

• Les forces d’insertion peuvent être supérieures pour le Roth Net corps étranger —

entéroscopie (00711152) pendant l’utilisation entéroscopique du fait de la configuration

de l’entéroscope et de la longueur de l’entéroscope/du dispositif.

2. Introduisez l’extrémité distale du cathéter légèrement au-delà de l’objet à extraire.

N’introduisez pas le dispositif au-delà d’un objet si la lumière est entièrement obstruée. Ouvrez

le dispositif en avançant la poignée jusqu’en butée. Vérifiez par endoscopie que le filet est

totalement ouvert.

3. Les conditions suivantes peuvent entraîner un dysfonctionnement du dispositif :

Ø avancée de la poignée en position ouverte en appliquant une vitesse ou une force

excessive

Ø tentative de passage ou d’ouverture du dispositif dans un endoscope extrêmement articulé

Ø tentative d’actionnement du dispositif dans une position extrêmement enroulée

Ø actionnement du dispositif alors que la poignée forme un angle aigu par rapport au

cathéter

4. Positionnez le Roth Net sur l’objet par endoscopie. Pour des résultats optimaux, l’objet doit

être centré et en position proximale dans le filet avant la fermeture de celui-ci.

• L’extracteur Roth Net — 360 (00711197, 00711200) améliore le positionnement du filet

par la rotation de la poignée dans le sens souhaité.

• Remarque : la rotation est optimale lorsque le filet est ouvert et centré dans la lumière,

pas lorsqu’il est contre la paroi de la muqueuse.

5. Maintenez le dispositif fermé en exerçant une traction constante/stable sur la poignée.

• Remarque : une force de fermeture excessive peut endommager le fil du dispositif ou

entraîner la déchirure ou la rupture du filet.

• Remarque : si vous exercez une « torsion » excessive sur le dispositif ouvert (déployé),

vous risquez de déformer le fil.

6. Les gammes Roth Net Platinum (00715050, 00715051, 00715150) et Roth Net Select

(00711170) sont conçues avec un fil plat.

• Remarque : la fermeture ou la rétraction excessive de la poignée risque d’endommager

le fil plat du dispositif.

• Remarque : maintenez un léger mouvement de traction sur le dispositif pendant

l’extraction afin que l’objet extrait ne soit pas relâché déplacé ou aspiré dans la trachée.

7. Saisissez et tirez lentement l’extrémité proximale du dispositif pour ramener l’objet récupéré

vers l’extrémité de l’endoscope, en veillant à ne pas obstruer la vue endoscopique.

8. L’observation endoscopique est impérative pendant l’extraction, pour ne jamais perdre de vue

l’objet, le bol alimentaire, le polype ou les tissus périphériques.

9. Une fois l’objet piégé dans le filet, sortez-le lentement en même temps que l’endoscope du

corps du patient.

• Ne pas rétracter le dispositif et l'objet dans l’endoscope. Cela pourrait endommager

l’endoscope et le dispositif.

10. Une fois l’endoscope et le dispositif retirés, l’objet, le bol alimentaire ou le polype extrait peut

être enlevé du filet en avançant la poignée pour ouvrir le dispositif.

• Remarque : rincer le filet dans l’eau stérile pour libérer l’objet extrait. Ne pas utiliser les

doigts pour extraire un objet. Cela risquerait d’endommager le filet.

11. Les spécimens doivent être préparés pour une évaluation histologique conformément aux

directives institutionnelles.

12. S’assurer que le dispositif continue à s’ouvrir et à se fermer en douceur avant la réinsertion

dans le patient (en cas d’extraction d’objets supplémentaires).

• Remarque : il peut être nécessaire de rincer le filet dans l’eau stérile s’il reste des débris

dans le filet.

13. Fermer (rétracter) la poignée jusqu’à ce que le filet soit entièrement rétracté dans sa gaine.

14. Répéter les étapes 1 à 13 si nécessaire.

15. Une fois l’objet ou les objets extraits et retirés du filet, fermer (rétracter) le filet dans le cathéter

et retirer le dispositif de l’endoscope.

Ce dispositif contient la substance suivante définie CMR 1B à une concentration supérieure

à 0,1 % masse pour masse :

Warn- und Vorsichtshinweise:

• Das endoskopische Entfernen von Fremdkörpern, Nahrungsmittelboli oder Polypen ist nur

von entsprechend geschulten Personen mit Erfahrung in endoskopischen Methoden

durchzuführen.

• Vor der Durchführung eines endoskopischen Verfahrens in der medizinischen Fachliteratur

zu den Themen Methodik, Komplikationen und Risiken nachlesen.

• Sollten Sie Referenzinformationen hinsichtlich endoskopischer Techniken unter Einsatz der

Roth Net-Entnahmeinstrument-Produktlinie wünschen/benötigen, erhalten Sie diese von

STERIS oder unter www.steris.com. Fallberichte und Videos, in denen die Techniken

beschrieben und demonstriert werden, sind verfügbar.

• Beim Greifen des zu entfernenden Objekts, Materials bzw. Polypen ist umsichtig vorzugehen,

um nicht versehentlich Gewebe oder Organe zu greifen, deren Entfernung nicht beabsichtigt

ist.

• Während der Entfernung sanften Zug auf das Werkzeug ausüben, um ein Lösen,

Verschieben oder Einsaugen des zu entfernenden Gegenstands in die Luftröhre zu

vermeiden.

• Die Anwendung der in Dokumenten oder Publikationen beschriebenen Techniken zur

Anwendung der Roth Net-Entnahmeinstrumente liegt im Ermessen des medizinischen

Personals, das die Entnahme durchführt.

• Diese Instrumente eignen sich nicht für die Entfernung scharfer Fremdkörper.

• Von der Verwendung der Instrumente in Endoskopen mit Seitenansicht wird abgeraten.

• Unter folgenden Bedingungen kann die korrekte Funktion des Instruments beeinträchtigt sein:

§ zu schnelles oder zu kräftiges Vorwärtsbewegen des Griffs in die offene Position,

§ bei dem Versuch, das Instrument in einem sehr stark gebogenen Endoskop zu bewegen

oder zu öffnen,

§ bei der Betätigung des Instruments in sehr gewundener Stellung,

§ bei der Betätigung des Instruments, wenn sich der Griff in einem spitzen Winkel zum

Schaft befindet.

• Versuchen Sie nicht, dieses Instrument wiederzuverwenden, zu reparieren, instand zu setzen,

wiederaufzuarbeiten oder erneut zu sterilisieren. Dieses Instrument wurde nicht von STERIS

Endoscopy dafür entworfen und es ist nicht dafür vorgesehen, wiederverwendet, repariert,

instandgesetzt, wiederaufgearbeitet oder erneut sterilisiert zu werden. Die Durchführung

solcher Aktivitäten an diesem Einweg-Medizinprodukt stellt ein Sicherheitsrisiko für die

Patienten dar (d. h. Beeinträchtigung der Produktintegrität, Kreuzkontamination, Infektion).

• Dieses Instrument ist nicht zur Verwendung mit elektrochirurgischen Geräten oder ihren

Zubehörteilen ausgelegt oder vorgesehen.

Kontraindikationen:

• Kontraindikationen umfassen unter anderem die Kontraindikationen, die speziell für alle

endoskopischen Verfahren gelten.

Vor der Verwendung:

1. Verwenden Sie bei der Durchführung von Endoskopieverfahren stets geeignete PSA.

2. Verwenden Sie das Produkt nicht, wenn es beschädigt oder die Verpackung beeinträchtigt ist.

Bewahren Sie Produkt und Verpackung auf und wenden Sie sich an Ihren lokalen Endoskopie-

Produktspezialisten bei STERIS.

3. Verwenden Sie dieses Produkt nicht über die auf dem Produktetikett angegebene

Haltbarkeitsdauer hinaus.

4. Vergewissern Sie sich vor dem Einführen, dass das Endoskop mit dem Außendurchmesser

des Produktkatheters kompatibel ist (siehe Tabelle Produktbeschreibung oben).

5. Lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung vollständig durch und machen Sie sich mit dem Produkt

vertraut.

6. Entnehmen Sie das Produkt aus der Verpackung, wickeln Sie das gesamte Produkt ab und

legen Sie es in „U“-Konfiguration hin. Halten Sie dabei das proximale Ende des Katheters in

einer und das distale Ende in der anderen Hand.

a. Anmerkung: Entfernen Sie beim Roth Net Fremdkörper – Mini (00711057) den ROTEN

Bolzen vom Griff und entsorgen Sie ihn.

7. Schließen (zurückziehen) und öffnen (vorschieben) Sie den Griff mehrmals, um die

ordnungsgemäße Funktion des Produkts zu überprüfen.

8. Schließen (zurückziehen) Sie den Griff, bis das Roth Net wieder vollständig in den Katheter

eingezogen wurde.

9. Lesen Sie den Abschnitt „Warn- und Vorsichtshinweise“ und „Kontraindikationen“.

Bedienungsanleitung:

1. Sobald das Objekt endoskopisch identifiziert wurde, führen Sie das Produkt in das

Biopsieventil des Zubehörkanals ein. Schieben Sie das Produkt dann in kurzen Stößen

(1–1,5 Zoll Länge) durch den Zubehörkanal des Endoskops vor, bis das distale Ende des

Katheters endoskopisch visualisiert wird.

• Das Produkt Roth Net – Fremdkörper – Enteroskop (00711152) kann bei der

endoskopischen Verwendung aufgrund der Endoskopkonfiguration und Endoskop-/

Produktlänge eine größere Einbringkraft haben.

2. Schieben Sie das distale Ende des Katheters so weit vor, dass es leicht an dem zu

entnehmenden Objekt vorbeiragt. Vermeiden Sie es, das Produkt an einem Objekt

vorbeizubewegen, wenn das gesamte Lumen blockiert ist. Öffnen Sie das Produkt, indem Sie

den Griff bis zum Stopp vorwärts schieben. Vergewissern Sie sich mittels endoskopischer

Beobachtung, dass das Netz vollständig geöffnet ist.

3. Die folgenden Bedingungen können dazu führen, dass das Produkt nicht ordnungsgemäß

funktioniert:

Ø Vorschieben des Griffs in die geöffnete Position mit zu hoher Geschwindigkeit oder Kraft

Ø Versuch, das Produkt in einem stark angewinkelten Endoskop vorzuschieben oder zu

öffnen

Ø Versuch, das Produkt in einer stark aufgewickelten Position zu betätigen

Ø Betätigen des Produkts, wenn der Griff sich in einem spitzen Winkel zum Katheter befindet

4. Positionieren Sie das Roth Net endoskopisch über dem Objekt. Um bestmögliche Ergebnisse

zu erzielen, sollte das Objekt sich vor dem Schließen mittig und proximal innerhalb des Netzes

befinden.

• Roth Net-Bergungsinstrument – 360 (00711197, 00711200) – Verbessern Sie die

Positionierung des Netzes, indem Sie den Griff in die gewünschte Richtung drehen.

• Anmerkung: Eine Drehung ist am besten möglich, wenn das Netz geöffnet ist und sich

mittig im Lumen befindet und nicht an der Schleimhaut anliegt.

5. Halten Sie das Produkt geschlossen, indem Sie stetige/konstante Zugkraft auf den Griff

ausüben.

• Anmerkung: Übermäßige Schließkraft kann den Draht des Produkts beschädigen oder

zu einem Zerreißen des Netzes führen.

• Anmerkung: Das Ausüben übermäßigen „Biegedrucks“ auf das geöffnete

(vorgeschobene) Produkt kann zu einer Verformung des Drahtes führen.

6. Die Roth Net Platinum-Serie (00715050, 00715051, 00715150) und Roth Net Select

(00711170) wurden mit einem Flachdraht entwickelt.

• Anmerkung: Ein zu kräftiges Schließen oder Zurückziehen des Griffs kann den

Flachdraht des Produkts beschädigen.

• Anmerkung: Üben Sie bei der Entnahme eine sanfte Zugkraft auf das Produkt aus,

damit sich das entnommene Objekt nicht lockert, verschiebt oder in die Luftröhre

aspiriert wird.

7. Ergreifen Sie das proximale Ende des Produkts und ziehen Sie langsam daran, um das

erfasste Objekt nahe an die Spitze des Endoskops zu bringen. Achten Sie darauf, die

endoskopische Sicht nicht zu blockieren.

8. Eine endoskopische Beobachtung während der Entnahme ist erforderlich, um das Objekt,

den Bolus, den Polyp oder das umgebende Gewebe nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren.

9. Wenn sich das Objekt sicher im Netz befindet, ziehen Sie das Objekt zusammen mit dem

Endoskop langsam aus dem Patienten zurück.

• Das Produkt und das Objekt nicht in das Endoskop zurückziehen. Dies könnte zu

Schäden am Endoskop sowie am Produkt führen.

10. Nach der Entfernung von Endoskop und Instrument kann das entfernte Objekt, der entfernte

Bolus oder der entfernte Polyp aus dem Netz genommen werden, indem der Griff

vorwärtsgeschoben wird, um das Instrument zu öffnen.

• Anmerkung: Das Netz in sterilem Wasser spülen, um das entnommene Objekt

freizusetzen. Entfernen Sie Objekte nicht mit den Fingern, da dies das Netz

beschädigen könnte.

11. Proben sollten für die histologische Auswertung gemäß der institutionellen Richtlinien

vorbereitet werden.

12. Sicherstellen, dass sich das Instrument weiterhin sanft öffnen und schließen lässt, bevor es

erneut in den Patienten eingeführt wird (wenn das Entfernen weiterer Objekte erforderlich

sein sollte).

• Anmerkung: Wenn Ablagerungen im Netz verbleiben, das Netz mit sterilem Wasser

spülen.

13. Den Griff schließen (zurückziehen), bis das Netz vollständig in den Schaft eingezogen ist.

14. Schritte 1–13 nach Bedarf wiederholen.

15. Sobald das oder die Objekte entnommen und aus dem Netz entfernt wurden, das Netz in den

Katheter schließen (einziehen) und das Instrument aus dem Endoskop entfernen.

Dieses Produkt enthält die folgende als CMR 1B definierte Substanz in einer Konzentration

über 0,1 Gew.-%:

Aktuelle wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse unterstützen die Annahme, dass aus

Kobaltlegierungen oder kobalthaltigen Edelstahllegierungen gefertigte Medizinprodukte

kein erhöhtes Krebsrisiko darstellen und keine unerwünschten reproduktiven Effekte

haben.

Entsorgung des Produkts:

Nach Gebrauch kann dieses Produkt eine mögliche Biogefährdung darstellen, was wiederum

ein Risiko von Kreuzkontamination darstellt. Handhaben und entsorgen Sie das Produkt

entsprechend der gängigen medizinischen Verfahren und den gültigen kommunalen und

Bundesgesetzen und -verordnungen.

Avvertenze e precauzioni:

• La procedura di recupero di corpi estranei, boli alimentari e polipi per via endoscopica deve

essere eseguita da personale medico con un’adeguata formazione ed esperienza nelle

tecniche endoscopiche.

• Prima di intraprendere qualsiasi procedura endoscopica, consultare la letteratura medica in

merito alle tecniche, alle complicanze e ai rischi correlati.

• Se si desiderano o sono necessarie informazioni di riferimento per tecniche endoscopiche in

cui viene impiegata la linea di prodotti di recupero Roth Net, contattare STERIS o visitare il

sito www.steris.com. Sono disponibili case report e video che descrivono e dimostrano le

tecniche.

• Afferrare con attenzione il corpo estraneo, il materiale o il polipo da rimuovere per evitare di

afferrare inavvertitamente il tessuto o gli organi che non devono essere rimossi.

• Durante il recupero, mantenere in tensione moderata il dispositivo per evitare che il corpo

recuperato si stacchi, venga liberato o aspirato nella trachea.

• La tecnica d’uso dei retini di recupero Roth Net, descritta in qualsivoglia documento o

pubblicazione, è a discrezione del personale medico che esegue la rimozione.

• Questi dispositivi non sono consigliati per il recupero di corpi estranei affilati.

• Questi dispositivi non sono consigliati per l’uso in un endoscopio con vista laterale.

• Il dispositivo non funziona correttamente quando:

§ Si fa avanzare l’impugnatura nella posizione di apertura troppo rapidamente o con forza

eccessiva.

§ Si tenta di far passare o di aprire il dispositivo in un endoscopio molto articolato.

§ Si aziona il dispositivo in una posizione estremamente arrotolata.

§ Si aziona il dispositivo quando l’impugnatura forma un angolo acuto con l’introduttore.

• Non tentare di riutilizzare, ritrattare, ricondizionare, ricostruire o risterilizzare il dispositivo.

STERIS Endoscopy non ha progettato, né predisposto il dispositivo per essere riutilizzato,

ritrattato, ricondizionato, ricostruito o risterilizzato. L’esecuzione di tali operazioni su questo

dispositivo medico monouso presenta un rischio per la sicurezza dei pazienti (ad esempio

compromissione dell’integrità del dispositivo, contaminazione crociata, infezione).

• Questo dispositivo non è stato progettato né concepito per l’uso con strumenti

elettrochirurgici o relativi accessori.

Controindicazioni:

• Le controindicazioni comprendono, in via non limitativa, quelle specifiche per qualsiasi

procedura endoscopica.

Prima dell’uso:

1. Durante l’esecuzione di procedure endoscopiche, utilizzare sempre DPI appropriati.

2. Non utilizzare in caso di danneggiamento del dispositivo o di compromissione dell’imballaggio.

Mettere da parte il dispositivo e l’imballaggio e contattare lo specialista del prodotto STERIS

Endoscopy di zona.

3. Non utilizzare questo dispositivo oltre la durata indicata sull’etichetta del prodotto.

4. Prima dell’inserimento, controllare che il diametro del canale accessori dell’endoscopio sia

compatibile con il diametro esterno del catetere del dispositivo (vedere la tabella Descrizione

del prodotto sopra riportata).

5. Leggere le istruzioni per l’uso complete e familiarizzare con il dispositivo.

6. Rimuovere il dispositivo dall’imballaggio, svolgere l’intero dispositivo e sistemarlo in una

configurazione a U, mantenendo l’estremità prossimale del catetere in una mano e l’estremità

distale nell’altra.

a. Nota: per Roth Net – retino corpi estranei – mini (00711057), rimuovere e gettare il

sostegno dell’impugnatura di colore ROSSO.

7. Chiudere (ritrarre) e aprire (azionare) l’impugnatura diverse volte e osservare che il

dispositivo funzioni correttamente.

8. Chiudere (ritrarre) l’impugnatura fino a quando il dispositivo Roth Net è completamente ritirato

nel suo catetere.

9. Leggere le “Avvertenze e precauzioni” e le “Controindicazioni”.

Istruzioni per l’uso:

1. Una volta identificato endoscopicamente il corpo estraneo, inserire il dispositivo nella valvola

per biopsia del canale accessori, quindi far avanzare il dispositivo attraverso il canale

accessori dell’endoscopio con piccole spinte da 2,5-3,8 cm (1-1,5 pollici) di lunghezza fino alla

visualizzazione endoscopica dell’estremità distale del catetere.

• Il dispositivo Roth Net – retino corpi estranei – enteroscopio (00711152) potrebbe

presentare forze d’inserzione superiori durante l’uso enteroscopico a causa della

configurazione dell’enteroscopio e della lunghezza dell’enteroscopio/dispositivo.

2. Far avanzare l’estremità distale del catetere leggermente oltre il corpo estraneo da recuperare.

Evitare di far passare il dispositivo oltre il corpo estraneo se l’intero lume è bloccato. Aprire il

dispositivo facendo avanzare l’impugnatura sino a fine corsa. Confermare la completa apertura

del retino mediante osservazione endoscopica.

3. Il dispositivo non funziona correttamente in presenza delle seguenti condizioni:

Ø si fa avanzare l’impugnatura nella posizione di apertura troppo rapidamente o con forza

eccessiva

Ø si tenta di far passare o di aprire il dispositivo in un endoscopio molto articolato

Ø si tenta di azionare il dispositivo in una posizione estremamente arrotolata

Ø si aziona il dispositivo quando l’impugnatura forma un angolo acuto con il catetere

4. Posizionare endoscopicamente il dispositivo Roth Net sopra il corpo estraneo. Per ottenere i

risultati migliori, il corpo estraneo deve trovarsi al centro e in posizione prossimale all’interno

del retino prima di chiuderlo.

• Retino di recupero Roth Net - 360 (00711197, 00711200) - Migliorare il posizionamento

del retino ruotando l’impugnatura nella direzione desiderata.

• Nota: per una rotazione ottimale si consiglia di mantenere il retino aperto e al centro del

lume, senza farlo appoggiare alla parete mucosa.

5. Tenere chiuso il dispositivo applicando una trazione costante/stabile sull’impugnatura.

• Nota: una forza di chiusura eccessiva può danneggiare il filo del dispositivo o causare la

rottura o la lacerazione del retino.

• Nota: esercitare una forza di “flessione” eccessiva sul dispositivo aperto (spiegato) può

danneggiare la forma del filo.

6. Le serie Roth Net Platinum (00715050, 00715051, 00715150) e Roth Net Select (00711170)

sono progettate con un filo piatto.

• Nota: una chiusura o una retrazione eccessiva dell’impugnatura possono danneggiare il

filo piatto del dispositivo.

• Nota: durante il recupero, mantenere in tensione moderata il dispositivo per evitare che

il corpo estraneo recuperato si stacchi, venga liberato o aspirato nella trachea.

7. Afferrare e ritirare lentamente l’estremità prossimale del dispositivo per portare il corpo

estraneo catturato vicino alla punta dell’endoscopio, accertandosi di non oscurare la vista

endoscopica.

8. Durante l’estubazione è necessario mantenere la visualizzazione endoscopica per poter

controllare il corpo estraneo, il bolo, il polipo o il tessuto circostante durante la rimozione.

9. Quando il corpo estraneo è saldamente nel retino, estrarlo lentamente dal paziente assieme

all’endoscopio.

• Non ritrarre il dispositivo e il corpo estraneo nell'endoscopio per evitare di arrecare

danni all'endoscopio e al dispositivo.

10. Una volta estubati l’endoscopio e il dispositivo, il corpo, il bolo o il polipo recuperato può

essere tolto dal retino facendo avanzare l’impugnatura per aprire il dispositivo.

• Nota: sciacquare in acqua sterile per liberare l’oggetto recuperato. Non usare le dita per

rimuovere l’oggetto. Ciò potrebbe danneggiare la rete.

11. I campioni devono essere preparati per una valutazione istologica in base alle linee guida

dell’istituto.

12. Verificare che il dispositivo si apra e si chiuda agevolmente prima di reinserirlo nel paziente

(se è necessario rimuovere altri corpi estranei dal paziente).

• Nota: nel caso in cui rimangano detriti, può essere necessario risciacquare il retino in

acqua sterile.

13. Chiudere (ritrarre) l’impugnatura fino a quando la rete è completamente ritirata nella sua

guaina.

14. Ripetere i passaggi da 1 a 13 secondo necessità.

15. Una volta recuperato l’oggetto, o gli oggetti, chiudere (ritrarre) la rete all’interno del catetere e

rimuovere il dispositivo dall’endoscopio.

Questo dispositivo contiene la seguente sostanza definita come CMR 1B in una

concentrazione superiore allo 0,1% in peso/peso:

Cobalto; CAS N. 7440-48-4

•

Le attuali evidenze scientifiche suggeriscono che i dispositivi medici prodotti a partire da

leghe di cobalto o leghe di acciaio inossidabile contenenti cobalto non determinano un

aumento del rischio di cancro o effetti riproduttivi avversi.

Smaltimento del prodotto

Dopo l’uso, il prodotto costituisce un potenziale rischio biologico che presenta un rischio di

contaminazione crociata. Manipolare e smaltire in conformità alla prassi medica approvata e

alle leggi e alle normative locali, regionali e nazionali in vigore.

Advertencias y precauciones:

• La recuperación endoscópica de cuerpos extraños, bolos alimenticios o pólipos debe

realizarse solo por personal con la adecuada formación y que esté familiarizado con las

técnicas correspondientes.

• Antes de realizar un procedimiento endoscópico, consulte bibliografía médica referente a las

técnicas, las complicaciones y los riesgos relacionados.

• Si desea/necesita información de referencia sobre técnicas endoscópicas que utilizan la línea

de productos de extracción Roth Net, póngase en contacto con STERIS o consulte

www.steris.com. Se dispone de informes de casos y vídeos donde se describen y se hacen

demostraciones de las técnicas.

• Cuando sujete el objeto, material o pólipo que se va a recuperar, deben tomarse las

precauciones necesarias para evitar atrapar inadvertidamente tejido u órganos que no se

pretendan extraer.

• Mantenga una suave tracción sobre el dispositivo durante la recuperación para que el objeto

recuperado no se afloje, suelte o aspire hacia el interior de la tráquea.

• La técnica para utilizar los dispositivos de extracción Roth Net, tal y como se describe en

cualquier documento o publicación, será decisión del personal médico que esté realizando la

extracción.

• No se recomienda usar estos dispositivos para la extracción de cuerpos extraños punzantes

o cortantes.

• Estos dispositivos no se recomiendan para su uso en endoscopios de visión lateral.

• El dispositivo puede no funcionar correctamente en las siguientes situaciones:

§ Se ha hecho avanzar el mango a la posición abierta con demasiada velocidad o fuerza.

§ Se ha intentado hacer pasar o abrir el dispositivo en un endoscopio demasiado

articulado.

§ Se ha accionado el dispositivo en una posición demasiado enrollada.

§ Se ha accionado el dispositivo cuando el mango formaba un ángulo agudo con la vaina.

• No intente volver a utilizar, procesar, acondicionar, fabricar o esterilizar este dispositivo. STERIS

Endoscopy no diseñó este dispositivo para volver a utilizarse, acondicionarse, fabricarse o

esterilizarse; ni tampoco está previsto para ello. Realizar dichas actividades en este dispositivo

médico desechable presenta un riesgo de seguridad para los pacientes (es decir, integridad del

dispositivo afectada, contaminación cruzada o infección).

• Este dispositivo no ha sido diseñado ni está previsto para el uso con dispositivos

electroquirúrgicos o sus accesorios.

Contraindicaciones:

• Las contraindicaciones incluyen, entre otras, las específicas de cualquier procedimiento

endoscópico.

Antes del uso:

1. Utilice siempre equipo de protección individual adecuado al realizar procedimientos

endoscópicos.

2. No utilizar si el dispositivo está dañado o si el embalaje se ha visto comprometido. Guarde el

dispositivo y el embalaje y póngase en contacto con su especialista local en productos de

endoscopia STERIS.

3. No utilice este dispositivo una vez superado el periodo de validez indicado en el etiquetado del

producto.

4. Compruebe que el diámetro del canal para accesorios del endoscopio sea compatible con el

diámetro exterior del catéter del dispositivo antes de la inserción (consulte la tabla anterior,

5. Lea íntegramente las instrucciones de uso y familiarícese con el dispositivo.

6. Saque el dispositivo del paquete, desenróllelo por completo y colóquelo en forma de “U”,

sujetando el extremo proximal del catéter con una mano y el distal con la otra.

a. Nota: En el caso de Roth Net – extracción de cuerpos extraños – mini (00711057),

retire y elimine el soporte del mango ROJO.
