Features for the Evolution Kit

: The Evolution Kit features Smart Hub, a multi-purpose entertainment and family centre. With Smart Hub, you can surf the

web, download applications, and stay in touch with family and friends through social networking services. In addition, you can view or

play photo, video, and music files stored on external storage devices.

: Provides a detailed, on-screen user’s manual built into the Evolution Kit.

Samsung Smart Control

: The Samsung Smart Control has a motion sensor (gyro sensor) that allows you to easily control the TV by

holding and moving the Samsung Smart Control.

Limitations

TV Panel and Design are not changed by Evolution Kit. Actual performance may vary and subject to model specifications and hardware

limitations.

Limitations of 2012 TVs

Upgrading to a 2014 TV using the Evolution Kit results in the following limitations:

The Evolution Kit may not support some apps and functions that are available on the 2012 Samsung TV, such as upgrading through the

broadcast signal, existing printer connections, data broadcasting, Plug & Access and Soft AP.

•

A wireless network connection via

Plug & Access

is not supported. Use a different method, such as entering a password or WPS to

establish a wireless network connection.

•

Soft AP

are not supported. Use

Wi-Fi Direct

to connect mobile devices to the TV directly.

Limitations of 2013 TVs

Upgrading to a 2014 TV using the Evolution Kit results in the following limitations:

The Evolution Kit may not support some apps and functions that are available on the 2013 Samsung TV, such as the Smart hub social

panel.

Installing the Evolution Kit may reset some of the existing TV settings.

The Pre-Mounting Checklist

•

Before snapping the Evolution Kit into place, ensure that the other end of the kit has been inserted securely into the two slots. The kit

may be damaged if you continue without securely positioning the kit inside the slots.

•

If you are mounting the kit onto a wall-mounted TV, remove the TV from the wall first.

•

Mounting an Evolution Kit that has been used on a different TV will reset the user data contained in the kit.

Attaching the Evolution Kit to a TV

- First, check the network status and ensure there is an Internet connection. Internet access is required to use the Evolution Kit.

- Remove the USB device from the TV before installing the Evolution Kit. If the USB device is connected to the TV, the Evolution Kit may not

be installed properly.

By mounting the Evolution Kit onto your existing Samsung TV, you can upgrade the TV’s software without purchasing a new TV. Use the Evolution

Kit to unlock the new features and services offered by Samsung Electronics.

Insert the Evolution Kit into the two slots as shown in the diagram below,

and then attach to the TV.

5. To make sure the Evolution Kit attached securely, press it again, as shown by the figure below.

6. Connect a wired network to the TV

- 2012 TV: To use a wired network on a TV that has an Evolution

Kit attached, disconnect the LAN cable from the TV, and then

connect it to the Kit using the LAN Cable Adapter.

- 2013 TV: To use a wired network, connect the LAN cable

to the TV.



7. Plug the TV’s power cable to an outlet.

8. Turn on the TV.

9. Please wait for the Evolution Kit to be recognised (up to 10 seconds).

10. Once recognised, the Evolution Kit will update the TV to the 2014 version. Wait for the update process to finish.

- The TV will turn off and on automatically after completing the software update.

- The LAN cable adapter and Samsung Smart Control unit can only be used after installing the Evolution Kit on the TV.

Detaching the Evolution Kit

Grab the Evolution Kit’s edges and pull out the Evolution Kit with the right

side pushed to detach it from the TV, as illustrated by the figure side.

Correcting if Improperly Attached

Push one of the corners in the direction of arrow ① and press

the

PUSH

button indicated by arrow ②.

Recovering a Previous State

1. Turn off the TV and then disconnect the TV power plug.

2. Detach the Evolution Kit from the TV.

3. Turn on the TV, navigate to

Software Update

Software Update

), and then update the software.

- Update the software via the Internet. Otherwise, you will not be able to update via USB or play DRM-protected videos.

Inserting Batteries into the Samsung Smart Control

To use Samsung Smart Control, first refer to the figure below and insert batteries into the unit.

- We recommend using Samsung Smart Control at a distance of less than 6m. A usable distance may differ depending on the wireless

environmental conditions.

Gently pull on the battery cover’s notch and then remove the cover completely once it comes

loose.

Insert 2 AA alkaline batteries, making sure to align the positive and negative polarities correctly.

Place the battery cover on the remote control and insert the top part of the cover into the

remote control.

Press the catches on both sides of the battery cover in the order shown so that the cover is

completely attached to the remote control.

Connecting to the TV

Press the

TV

button on the Samsung Smart Control to turn on the TV. The Samsung Smart Control connects to the TV automatically. If this is the

first time you have turned on the TV, the Initial Setup screen appears. Follow the directions on the screen to set up the TV.

- To finish installing the Evolution Kit on 2012 TVs, re-pair the previously used 2012 IR Blaster by pressing the

PAIRING

button on the

bottom of the IR Blaster. For a detailed explanation, refer to the TV’s user manual.

Reconnecting the Samsung Smart Control

If the Samsung Smart Control stops operating or works abnormally, replace the batteries as this may be due to insufficient battery power.

If the problem persists, the Samsung Smart Control restores pairing with the TV.

WARRANTY

This Samsung product is warranted for the period of the listed period at the table (Refer to the warranty period table

by the country) from the original date of purchase, against defective materials and workmanship. In the event that

warranty service is required, you should first return the product to the retailer from whom it was purchased. However,

Samsung Authorised Service Centres will comply with this warranty during the Warranty Period. To obtain details,

please contact your nearest Authorised Service Centre.

PROCEDURE FOR MAKING A WARRANTY CLAIM

To make a claim under the warranty, you must contact the Samsung Centre during the Warranty Period to discuss

the problems you are having with the product. If a repair or replacement is required, you will be provided with a

Warranty Claim Number and address of an Authorised Service Centre.

If you are provided with a Warranty Claim Number, to obtain a repair or replacement of the product, you must send

the product to the Authorised Service Centre advised together with:

a copy of your completed warranty card or, if you have already provided this to Samsung, your name, address and

contact telephone number;

your original receipt, invoice or sales slip for the purchase of the product as new;

your Warranty Claim Number.

Samsung will then repair or replace the product and return it to you using the contact details provided.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

1. The warranty is only valid if the above procedure for making a warranty claim is followed.

2. Samsung’s obligations are limited to the repair or, at its discretion, replacement of the product or the

defective part.

3. Warranty repairs must be carried out by Samsung Authorised Service Centres. No re-imbursement will be

made for repairs carried out by service centres or dealers that are not authorised by Samsung and any such

repair work and damage to the products caused by such repair work will not be covered by this warranty.

4. This product is not considered to be defective in materials nor workmanship by reason that it requires

adaptation in order to conform to national or local technical or safety standards in force in any country other

than the one for which the product was originally designed and manufactured. This warranty will not cover,

and no reimbursement will be made for such adaptation, nor any damage which may result.

5. The warranty does not apply to any product that has been damaged or rendered defective as a result of

any of the following excluded reasons, namely:

- as a result of accident, misuse, or abuse;

- through the failure to use this product for its normal purposes;

7. Raccordez le câble d'alimentation du téléviseur à une prise.

8. Allumez le téléviseur.

9. Attendez que l'Evolution Kit soit reconnu (jusqu'à 10secondes).

10. Une fois reconnu, l'Evolution Kit met à jour le téléviseur avec la version2014. Attendez la fin du processus de mise à jour.

- Une fois la mise à jour du logiciel terminée, le téléviseur s'éteint et se rallume automatiquement.

- L'adaptateur de câble LAN et la Samsung Smart Control peuvent uniquement être utilisés après l'installation de l'Evolution Kit sur le

téléviseur.

Retrait de l'Evolution Kit

Saisissez les bords de l'Evolution Kit, puis tirez-le tout en appuyant sur son

côté droit, pour le détacher du téléviseur, comme illustré ci-contre.

Correction en cas de mauvaise fixation

Appuyez sur l'un des coins en direction de la flèche ① puis

Insertion des piles dans le Samsung Smart Control

Pour utiliser le Samsung Smart Control, vous devez tout d'abord insérer les piles dans l'unité, comme illustré ci-dessous.

- Nous recommandons d'utiliser le Samsung Smart Control à une distance inférieure à 6m. La distance d'utilisation peut varier en fonction

des conditions de l'environnement sans fil.

Retirez délicatement le cran du capot du compartiment des piles, puis ôtez complètement le

capot lorsqu'il se décolle.

Insérez 2piles alcalines AA en vous assurant d'aligner correctement les polarités positives et

négatives.

Placez le capot du compartiment des piles sur la télécommande et insérez la partie supérieure.

Appuyez sur les fermetures de chaque côté du capot du compartiment des piles dans l'ordre

indiqué de façon à le fixer complètement à la télécommande.

Connexion au téléviseur

Appuyez sur le bouton

du Samsung Smart Control pour allumer le téléviseur. Le Samsung Smart Control se connecte automatiquement

au téléviseur. Si vous allumez le téléviseur pour la première fois, l'écran de configuration initiale s'affiche. Pour ce faire, suivez les instructions à

- Pour terminer l'installation de Evolution Kit sur les téléviseurs de 2012, établissez un nouveau pairage avec le Blaster IR 2012 en appuyant

Reconnexion du Samsung Smart Control

Si le Samsung Smart Control cesse de fonctionner ou fonctionne anormalement, les piles déchargées peuvent en être la cause. Remplacez-les.

Si le problème persiste, le Samsung Smart Control rétablit le pairage avec le téléviseur.
