instructions are a constituent of this product. They contain important

information with regard to safety, use and disposal. Before using the

product, familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions.

Use this device only as described and only for the speciﬁ ed areas of

application. Retain these instructions for future reference. Please also

pass these operating instructions on to any future owner(s).

Intended use

The loudspeaker is designed exclusively for connection to a PC, a

notebook, or an audio device* (e.g. MP3 player) using a 3.5 mm

jack plug. This device is exclusively for private use, and is not intended

for industrial or commercial purposes. The device is not intended for

any other use or for uses extending beyond those stated. Claims of

any kind for damage arising as a result of non-intended use will not

be accepted. The user is the sole bearer of the risk.

* If the loudspeaker is to be connected to a device without a USB

connection, an external power supply with USB output is required

(not included in delivery).

Safety

This section provides you with important safety information regarding

the handling of the device. The device complies with the statutory

safety regulations. Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and

property damage.

Basic safety instructions

For safe handling of the device, follow the safety information below:

■ Check device for visible external damage before use. Do not use

devices that have been damaged or dropped.

■ Damaged cables or connections should be replaced by the

Customer Service department.

■ Always grasp the connection cable by the plug. Do not pull on

the power cable itself!

■ Do not place any objects, furniture or similar on the connection

cable and make sure that the cable is not trapped.

■ Never make a knot in the connection cable and do not bind it

together with other cables. The power cable should be routed

so that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.

■ This device is not intended for use by persons (including children)

with limited physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or lack

of experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a

person who is responsible for their safety, or receive instructions

from this person on how to use the device.

■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play

with the device.

■ Only have repairs carried out by authorised specialist companies

or the Customer Service department. Improper repairs can pose

signiﬁ cant risks to the user. Warranty claims also become void.

■ Repairs to the device during the warranty period may only be

carried out by a customer service department authorised by the

manufacturer. Otherwise no additional warranty claims can be

considered for subsequent damage.

■ Defective components must always be replaced with original

replacement parts. It can only be guaranteed that safety require-

ments are complied with if original replacement parts are used.

■ Never attempt to open the device. There are no parts which can

be cleaned or maintained inside the device. Do not perform any

modiﬁ cations or changes to the device yourself.

■ Never operate the device in the vicinity of naked ﬂ ames, and do

not place candles on or next to the device.

■ Protect the device from moisture, spray and dripping water and

the penetration of liquids. Do not place objects containing liquid

(e.g. ﬂ ower vases) on or near the device.

■ If liquid penetrates the device, switch it oﬀ , disconnect it from

the power supply and have it inspected by qualiﬁ ed specialists

before using it again.

■ If the device is moved from cold to warm surroundings, wait for

approx. 2 hours until the device has reached the ambient tem-

perature before switching it on.

■ If you are using a USB power supply, the mains socket used must

always be easily accessible so that the USB power supply can

be quickly disconnected from the socket in a hazardous situation.

► Packaging materials such as plastic ﬁ lm or polystyrene must

not be used by children as a plaything. Risk of suﬀ ocation!

NOTE

►

Check the contents for completeness and for signs of visible

damage.

► If the contents are incomplete or damaged due to defective

packaging or through transportation, contact the Service

Hotline (see chapter Service).

Disposal of packaging

The packaging protects the device from transport damage.

The packaging materials have been selected in accordance with

their environmental friendliness and disposal attributes, and are

therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material cycle

saves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste

generated. Dispose of packaging material that is no

longer needed in accordance with applicable local

regulations.

NOTE

►

If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty

period so that the device can be properly packed for returning

in the event of a warranty claim.

Installation site requirements

For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the installation site

must fulﬁ l the following requirements:

■ The device must be placed on a ﬁ rm, ﬂ at and level surface.

■ Do not place the device in a hot, wet or extremely moist environ-

ment or in the vicinity of ﬂ ammable materials.

■ Place the device so that it is not exposed to direct sunlight, strong

artiﬁ cial light or heated air.

Handling and use

This section provides you with important information on handling and

using the device.

System requirements

▯ Computer with sound card and USB connection

▯ audio device with audio output (3.5 mm jack plug) and USB

connection (alternatively with external USB power supply).

Connecting the loudspeaker

♦ Ensure that the rotary switch

is in the “OFF” position.

♦ Plug the 3.5 mm jack plug

into the line out or headphone

socket of your audio device (e.g. notebook, MP3 player).

The audio signals are transmitted via this connection.

♦ Plug the USB plug

into a USB socket of your audio device

(alternatively into the USB socket of an external USB power

supply). The power supply for the loudspeaker

is provided

via this connection.

NOTE

► The loudspeakers

do not work without a USB connection!

Switching on/oﬀ and adjusting the volume

♦ Turn the rotary switch

clockwise until a click is heard in

order to switch the loudspeakers

on.

♦ Turn the rotary switch

further in a clockwise direction to

increase the volume.

♦ Turn the rotary switch

anticlockwise to decrease the volume.

♦ Turn the rotary switch

anticlockwise until a click is heard

(OFF position) in order to switch the loudspeakers

oﬀ .

Switching the light on and oﬀ

♦ Turn the LIGHT switch to the “ON” position in order to

switch the loudspeaker

light on.

♦ Turn the LIGHT switch to the “OFF” position in order to

switch the loudspeaker

light oﬀ .

Switching bass and treble boost on/oﬀ

♦ Turn the BASS switch

to the “ON” position in order to

switch the loudspeaker

bass boost on.

♦ Turn the BASS switch

to the “OFF” position in order to

switch the loudspeaker

♦ Turn the TREBLE switch

to the “ON” position in order to

switch the loudspeaker

treble boost on.

♦ Turn the TREBLE switch

to the “OFF” position in order to

switch the loudspeaker

treble boost oﬀ .

Connecting headphones

WARNING

Loud music can lead to hearing damage.

► Avoid extremely loud sound levels, especially over

long periods of time, when you are using head-

phones.

♦ Ensure that the rotary switch

is in the OFF position.

♦ Insert the 3.5 mm jack plug of the headphones into the head-

phone socket

♦ Before placing the headphones on your head, switch the loud-

speaker

on again and carefully increase the volume.

NOTE

►

As soon as you connect the headphones, the loudspeakers

will be muted.

► The headphone output is passive, which means that the volume

can be controlled using the rotary switch

, but the maximum

volume is speciﬁ ed by the computer or audio device. Please

note that headphones may only be connected if the audio device

has the necessary standard volume limitation applied to its

output. Please refer to your audio device instruction manual for

more information.

Fault rectiﬁ cation

This section contains important information on fault localisation and

rectiﬁ cation. Observe the instructions in order to avoid risks and

damage.

Malfunction causes and remedies

CAUTION

The loudspeakers may not be opened!

► There are no parts which can be cleaned or maintained inside

the device. Opening the loudspeakers will result in irreparable

damage to the device.

The following table will help with localising and remedying minor

malfunctions:

► To avoid irreparable damage, ensure that no moisture

penetrates the device during cleaning.

■ Clean the housing of the device with a lightly moistened cloth

and a mild detergent only.

Storage/Disposal

Storage

Store the device in a dry environment.

Disposal of the device

Do not dispose of the device in the normal

domestic waste. This product is subject to

the provisions of European Directive

2002/96/EC-WEEE (Waste Electrical and

Electronic Equipment).

Dispose of the device via an approved disposal centre

or at your community waste facility. Please observe

the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt,

please contact your waste disposal centre.

chase. This device has been manufactured with care and inspected

meticulously prior to delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of

purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please contact Customer

Service by telephone. This is the only way to guarantee free return

of your goods.

NOTE

The warranty only covers claims for material and manufac-

turing defects, not for transport damage, worn parts or dam-

age to fragile components such as switches or batteries.

This device is intended solely for private use and not for commercial

purposes. The warranty is deemed void if this product has been sub-

jected to improper or inappropriate handling, abuse or modiﬁ cations

that were not carried out by one of our authorised service centres.

The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs made under the

of purchase. Repairs made after expiry of the warranty period are

chargeable.

Namjenska uporaba

Zvučnici su predviđeni isključivo za priključivanje na računalo, prije-

nosno računalo ili audiouređaj* (npr. MP3 player) pomoću 3,5 mm

klinastog utikača. Ovaj je uređaj namijenjen isključivo za privatne

svrhe i nije predviđen za industrijske i komercijalne svrhe. Svaki drugi

način uporabe i svaka uporaba koja prelazi navedene okvire smatra

se nenamjenskom. Isključena su sva potraživanja bilo koje vrste na

temelju štete nastale nenamjenskom uporabom. Rizik snosi isključivo

sam korisnik.

* Ako se zvučnici spajaju na uređaj bez USB priključka, potreban

je vanjski mrežni adapter s USB izlazom (nije sadržan u opsegu

isporuke).

Sigurnost

U ovom poglavlju možete pronaći važne sigurnosne napomene za

rukovanje uređajem. Ovaj uređaj zadovoljava propisane sigurnosne

odredbe. Nestručna uporaba može dovesti do ozljeda i oštećenja

imovine.

Opće sigurnosne napomene

Za sigurno rukovanje uređajem pridržavajte se sljedećih sigurnosnih

napomena:

■ Uređaj prije uporabe provjerite kako biste ustanovili eventualna

vanjska oštećenja. Ne koristite oštećen uređaj ili uređaj koji je pao.

■ U slučaju oštećenja kabela ili priključaka iste treba zamijeniti

servis za kupce.

■ Priključne kabele uvijek hvatajte za utikač. Ne povlačite za sam

kabel!

■ Ne postavljajte namještaj i sl. na priključne kablove i pazite da

ih ne prignječite.

■ Nikada ne vežite priključni kabel u čvor, i ne povezujte ga sa

drugim kabelima. Priključni kabeli trebaju biti postavljeni tako

da nitko ne može na njih stati ili se preko njih spotaknuti.

■ Ovaj uređaj nije namijenjen da se njime koriste osobe (uključujući

djecu) s ograničenim ﬁ zičkim, senzornim i mentalnim sposobnostima

ili nedostatkom iskustva i/ili znanja, osim ako su te osobe pod

nadzorom osobe zadužene za njihovu sigurnost, ili ako su od

nje primile upute za ispravnu uporabu uređaja.

■ Djecu treba nadzirati kako bi se osiguralo da se ne igraju uređajem.

■ Popravak uređaja smiju obavljati isključivo ovlaštene stručne

radionice ili servis za kupce. Nestručno obavljeni popravci mogu

ozbiljno ugroziti sigurnost korisnika. Osim toga, u tom se slučaju

gubi i pravo na jamstvo.

■ Tijekom jamstvenog razdoblja uređaj smiju popravljati samo

servisi za kupce koje je ovlastio proizvođač. U protivnom se u

slučaju kvarova gube jamstvena prava.

■ Neispravni sastavni dijelovi smiju se zamijeniti isključivo original-

nim rezervnim dijelovima. Samo kod takvih dijelova je zajamčeno

ispunjavanje sigurnosnih zahtjeva.

■ Ne pokušavajte otvoriti uređaj. U unutrašnjosti uređaja nema dije-

lova predviđenih za čišćenje ili održavanje. Na uređaju nemojte

obavljati samovoljne izmjene ili preinake.

■ Uređaj ne koristite u blizini otvorenog plamena i ne postavljajte

svijeće na uređaj ili pokraj njega.

■ Uređaj zaštitite od vlage, prskanja i kapanja vode, te od prodi-

ranja tekućina u uređaj. Na uređaj ili pokraj njega ne postavljajte

predmete napunjene tekućinom (npr. vaze).

■ Ukoliko tekućina prodre u unutrašnjost uređaja, isključite uređaj,

isključite napajanje i uređaj prije ponovnog puštanja u rad pre-

dajte na popravak kvaliﬁ ciranom stručnjaku.

■ Nakon prelaska iz hladnog u toplo okruženje pričekajte prije

uključivanja dok uređaj ne poprimi temperaturu novog okruženja

(otprilike 2 sata).

■ Ako koristite mrežni adapter s USB izlazom, korištena utičnica

mora uvijek biti lako dostupna, kako bi u slučaju opasnosti adapter

mogli brzo izvući iz utičnice.

Provjerite cjelovitost opsega isporuke i provjerite postoje li na

uređaju vidljiva oštećenja.

► U slučaju nepotpune isporuke ili štete uslijed oskudnog pakiranja

ili transportne štete obratite se dežurnoj servisnoj telefonskoj

liniji (vidi poglavlje Servis).

Zbrinjavanje ambalaže

Ambalaža štiti uređaj od transportnih oštećenja.

Ambalaža se sastoji od materijala koji ne štete okolišu, lako se

zbrinjavaju te se stoga mogu reciklirati.

Vraćanje pakiranja u kružni tok materijala štedi sirovine

i umanjuje količinu otpada. Ambalažu koja Vam više nije

potrebna, zbrinite u skladu s važećim lokalnim propisima.

NAPOMENA

► Po mogućnosti sačuvajte originalno pakiranje za vrijeme trajanja

prava na jamstvo, kako biste uređaj u slučaju korištenja prava na

jamstvo mogli uredno zapakirati.
